I REALLY enjoyed CARRIER tonight because my husband was on a carrier in WWII. Of course it wasn't as large as the new carriers.
His name : Joseph H. Plagge & he served on the USS Bonne Homme Richard CV 31 until the war was over. In those days there were no women on board, no phone calls or computers, only snail mail. (Whenever it came.)
I felt much pride as that ship came into Hawaii and past The Arizona, a couple of tears fell from my eyes. It takes me back 63 years & I was 15 years old.
Joe died in 1979, I'm sure he's smiling down on the Carrier program as he was always proud of his ship.
Thank you,
Honey Plagge
