ORTL Phase 1: Defining an Early Childhood Professional

This workshop provides participants with an overview of the Business Administration Scale (BAS) with in-depth exploration of the chapters on early childhood professional qualifications and professional development. Additionally, the workshop looks at Ohio’s Early Childhood Core Knowledge document (CKC) as it addresses professionalism and demonstrates how the use of Ohio’s Early Learning Content Standards can guide the choices teachers make in providing quality care.

ORTL Phase 2: Providing the Best Working Environment

This workshop uses the Business Administration Scale (BAS) to take a closer look at the working environment and how to maximize efficiency for the teachers and a quality learning experience for the children. Ohio’s Core Knowledge document (CKC) will also be utilized, in particular the sections on Learning Environments and Experience. Practical examples will be provided to highlight Ohio’s Early Learning Content Standards for Science and Social Studies.

Where Learning Meets Art: Ideas for Arts Integration

Starting with a brief discussion of what top-notch arts integration looks like, participants will then have four different arts experiences from four unique perspectives. The workshop will conclude with a discussion of evaluation techniques for arts integration experiences. You will leave this workshop with new ideas and a renewed spirit to take back to your schools, classrooms, and colleagues. Presented by the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education and the Greater Cincinnati Alliance for Arts Education. Note - There is a $15 fee that will be collected at the door.
