The New SCPA (School for Creative and Performing Arts) Groundbreaking Ceremony: A Focus Special Report
For over a decade The Greater Cincinnati Arts & Education Center has been raising the necessary funds to erect a new School for Creative and Performing Arts. On September 6th at 5PM, local dignitaries, members of the GCAEC, and the students, staff and alumni of SCPA and Shiel Elementary were on hand to break ground for the revolutionary K – 12 school.
Located on the corner of Central Parkway and Elm Street in Downtown Cincinnati, the groundbreaking ceremony featured speeches from the people associated with this project as well as musical performances by the SPCA, Schiel Elementary and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. The concert was free and open to the public.
On this special broadcast, CET talked with the individuals who were involved in the new school to learn why such a school is important to the Greater Cincinnati community. The program also features clips from the groundbreaking ceremony taped on September 6th, 2007.
