A View of White Water: Virtual White Water Shaker Village

A View of White Water: Virtual White Water Shaker Village is a prototype program which presents a small part of a Shaker village established in the 19th Century along the White Water River in Ohio. Today, only a handful of the original buildings remain in place, and these have been altered and variously used since the Shakers left in the eraly 1900s. Virtual reconstruction, using old photographs, plans, maps, and contemporary measrement provides a way to "rebuild" both exteriors and interiors of buildings, placing them accurately on the local landscape. Created by CERHAS, the Center for the Electronic Reconstruction of Historical and Archaeological Sites at the University of Cincinnati for the Friends of White Water Shaker Village.
