FOCUS - American Diabetes Association
Did you know that nearly twenty-one million children and adults in the United States are living with diabetes, and another fifty-four million people are at-risk?
November marks American Diabetes Month and, on this episode of
Focus, Kathy Lehr talks with three individuals who are involved with the American Diabetes Association here in Greater Cincinnati.
From both a patient's perspective and a medical professional's perspective, we find out how the American Diabetes Association is at work here in Greater Cincinnati as well as nationally in its research, education and outreach endeavors.
During this program, we also learn about the different types of diabetes and how to recognize their symptoms. Our experts address the risks of leaving the disease untreated and how early prevention can delay, or in some cases, prevent the disease through a healthy lifestyle. Finally, we discuss where an individual can turn locally for sound medical advice and information on how to maintain a healthy diabetic lifestyle.
