Sister Jean Patrice Harrington
Sister Jean Patrice Harrington has been a leader and visionary in Greater
Cincinnati since she arrived in 1977 as the new president of the College

Marian Spencer
Marian Spencer, the first female president of the local chapter of the NAACP
in 1981 and the first African American woman elected to the Cincinnati City
Council in 1983, began her long civil rights career as a young teen. She

Judge William A. McClain
Judge William A. McClain has held a number of judicial and legal positions,
serving as Hamilton County Common Pleas Court judge, Municipal Court Judge,
and as Cincinnati's city solicitor from 1963 to 1972, the first African
American in the nation to hold such a high municipal legal office. He
discusses his life and his work with Judge John Andrew West. This video was

Bobbie Sterne
Bobbie Sterne was Cincinnati's first female mayor and a long-time member of
Cincinnati City Council. Throughout her life and years in public service,
