The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber has recognized four individuals as Great Living Cincinnatians for 2009. They are Raymond L. Brokamp, Paul Flory, Joseph P. Hayden Jr. and Ross Love. President Ellen van der Horst cites the "Leadership, vision and love of community, with a keen interest and commitment to creating a strong foundation for youth to succeed" as hallmarks of these four people.

Raymond Brokamp, Great Living Cincinnatian Ray Brokamp's life exemplifies public service. Much of his career has been spent in education and he retired after 34 years with the Cincinnati Public Schools. In 1987 he was named director of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber's Leadership Cincinnati, a position he held until June 2008.
Paul Flory, Great Living Cincinnatian Paul Flory worked for Procter and Gamble when, in 1975, he accepted the position of director of a local tennis tournament. Upon his retirement from P&G in 1987, Flory devoted his full attention to making the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters and Women's Open tournaments the area's only international sporting events. These events raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities.
Joseph P. Hayden Jr., Great Living Cincinnatian Joseph P. Hayden Jr., chairman and CEO of The Midland Company, started his career there when he was 14. During his tenure, he grew the company by positioning it as a specialty insurer of those things other companies didn't want to cover. In addition to his business career, Hayden applied his talents to help build a local team into one of the most renowned amateur baseball programs in the nation.
Ross Love, Great Living Cincinnatian Ross Love's life centers on three major endeavors: as vice president of global advertising for Procter & Gamble; Blue Chip Broadcasting, which he founded and grew to become the second largest African-American owned broadcasting company in the U.S.; and his dedication to public service. Among other things, Love co-chaired Cincinnati CAN to address racial disparities in Cincinnati.
