The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber has recognized four individuals as Great Living Cincinnatians for 2010. They are Lee Ault Carter, Richard Farmer, Cathryn Hosea Hilker, and Reverend Damon Lynch, Jr. President Ellen van der Horst cites the "Leadership, vision and love of community, with a keen interest and commitment to creating a strong foundation for youth to succeed" as hallmarks of these four people.
Lee Ault Carter, Great Living Cincinnatian Lee Ault Carter has devoted his life to community service for the past 40 years. He's served on many boards, often as chair, and has always taken an active role aimed at making Cincinnati a better community for everyone. He is best known as leading the transformation and expansion of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
Richard T. Farmer, Great Living Cincinnatian While growing Cintas to become the nation's largest uniform rental company, Richard T. Farmer concurrently grew his commitment the to Cincinnati community. Farmer, through his company and his family's foundation, has partnered with Matthew 25: Ministries to make a difference in the lives of the poorest of the poor.
Cathryn Hosea Hilker, Great Living Cincinnatian Cathryn Hosea Hilker is The Cincinnati Zoo's world-renowned ''Cat Ambassador''. She helped establish the Cheetah Conservation Fund, based in Namibia. Through the zoo's cat conservation program, Cathryn Hilker reaches both children and adults with her message of the importance of preserving wildlife.
Reverend Damon Lynch, J, Great Living Cincinnatian From his work as a preacher and a man of God to his part in founding the annual Martin Luther King Jr. March and creating the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Reverend Damon Lynch Jr. has reached out to individuals of all colors and faiths. Here is his story.
