FOCUS - Books By The Banks 2009
On Saturday, October 17, 2009, the 3rd annual Books by the Banks: Cincinnati USA Book Festival will be held at the Duke Energy Convention Center. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., booklovers can meet up to eighty national and regional authors and illustrators and even have their books autographed. Attendees can also participate in fascinating author panel discussions that feature topics like sports, local history, cooking demos, and music. Nearby meeting rooms have been set aside for some authors to discuss their works with their fans. Parents and children can enjoy activities such as visits with costumed storybook characters, children’s author readings, music, and fun crafts. Best of all, admission is free! On this episode of Focus, Kathy Lehr talks with two representatives from participating libraries who will discuss what to expect from the event. Kathy also talks with award-winning, local author and educator Sharon Draper about her involvement in this event. For additional information about Books By The Banks and its list of scheduled events and authors in attendance, visit the website.
