"Makers" highlights women's stories

Every day women – known and unknown – are making impacts across the globe. They’re fighting to end inequality; they’re serving as the first women leaders of major organizations and companies; they’re groundbreaking authors, comedians and actors and they are proud of the work they are doing.

Next week, CET and ThinkTV16 will be airing Makers: Women Who Make America to highlight stories just like these. This three-hour comprehensive and innovative series chronicles women’s advancement over the last 50 years through the tales of the women who lived it.

Makers is narrated by Meryl Streep and features commentary from Hilary Clinton, Condoleezza Rice, Oprah Winfrey, Katie Couric, Gloria Steinem, Phyllis Schlafly and others. The program will air at 8pm Tuesday, Feb. 26, on CET and ThinkTV16.

Makers and PBS have put together a really cool website for the program that includes the personal stories and interviews of the women in the show as well as many who aren’t. Check out for the background stories of Danica Patrick, Dusty Roads, Nichelle Nichols, Judy Blume, Erin Brockovich and many many more.
