Dancing on the Edge Comes to CET & ThinkTV
Last Updated by
CET and ThinkTV16 are premiering Dancing on the Edge Sunday, June 26, at 8pm. This 1930s period drama follows the story of the Louis Lester Band. Set in London during the volatile time between the financial crash and World War II, the black jazz band finds success and experiences decadence like never before, but what’s the price? And can the band overcome tragedy?
The main character in the show, Louis Lester himself, is played by BAFTA Award-Winner Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave, Amistad, Kinky Boots). The rest of the cast includes John Goodman (Roseanne, 10 Cloverfield Lane, O Brother, Where Art Thou?) as Masterson, Jacqueline Bisset as Lady Cremone – which won her a Golden Globe for her performance – Janet Montgomery (Entourage, Human Target, The Hills Run Red) as Sarah, Angel Coulby (Merlin) as Jessie, Wunmi Mosaku (Joy) as Carla, Tom Hughes (Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll) as Julian, Joanna Vanderham (The Runaway) as Pamela and Matthew Goode (Downton Abbey) as Stanley.
The premiere episode charts the Louis Lester Band's ascent, with Stanley's help, from a downbeat jazz cellar to the Imperial Hotel and a party attended by an admiring prince and a moneyed American. Later, Louis helps smuggle an injured woman out of a hotel room.
Dancing on the Edge originally premiered on Starz in 2013 and then aired on BBC.
