Oscar-Nominated Documentary to Stream On Demand February 5 - 7
In advance of Oscar night, Think TV and CET are making the Academy Award-nominated documentary AMERICAN EXPERIENCE:Last Days in Vietnam available for streaming from Feb. 5 through Feb. 7, 2015. The program will streamed via Think TV and CET’s On Demand services at http://video.thinktv.org and http://watch.cetconnect.org. This viewing opportunity comes long before Oscar voting closes on Feb. 17, 2015.
This two-hour Rory Kennedy directed tale chronicles the last days of the Vietnam War when the North Vietnamese Army was closing in on Saigon. The film focuses on a group of American officers caught in a city under fire while struggling with a heavy choice. Their dilemma is a moral one: follow official policy and evacuate U.S. citizens and dependents alone, or ignore orders and risk court martial in order to save the lives of the men, women and children they had come to value during their time in Vietnam.
“We are so proud of Last Days in Vietnam,” Beth Hoppe, Chief Programming Executive and General Manager, General Audience Programming at PBS said in a Press Release. “What’s more, we’re providing the public a chance to see this terrific film before the Oscars are handed out on February 22.”
AMERICAN EXPERIENCE: Last Days in Vietnam will premiere on Tuesday, April 28, at 9pm on ThinkTV16 and CET.
