This course begins with an overview of the Earth’s systems - geophysical, atmospheric, oceanic, and ecosystems - as they exist independently of human influence. Following this introduction, the course explores the effect that human activities have on the different natural systems. Topics include human population growth and resource use, increasing competition for fresh water, and climate change. Each of the 13 programs features two case studies following top scientists in the field.

Inventing Flight is a multimedia program for 7th-9th grade students that looks at the science and history behind the Wright Brothers' invention of powered flight.

Helping students learn math and science is the goal of this new multimedia project. The workings of the blimp will provide the framework for teachers to facilitate the application of concepts needed to prepare for Ohio's proficiency test. The video series follows two high school students, Rob and Lindsey, trying to win college scholarships. The two team up and decide to create a documentary about how blimps are made and how they work. Each video is a lesson starter that leads to hands-on CD-ROM, DVD and Web site activities.

Joel's Library Jam is a children's literacy initiative that introduces beginning and early readers to books and libraries through short video programs, developmentally appropriate activities and additional web resources.
