Action Auction History
The CET Action Auction is celebrating 45 years as Cincinnati's perennial hometown favorite. Although it has changed and evolved over the years, the auction continues to be CET’s largest fundraising event. The annual event began as a 10-day affair, but currently airs live for four nights, culminating with the ever-popular Wine Night. Over the years, a wide range of items have been sold at auction, including lavish vacations, one-of-a-kind experiences, priceless antiques and art, and even a brand new home!
Auction proceeds provide critical funding that allows CET to serve more than 500,000 students and teachers and over 2 million viewers with educational services and programming. Through PBS and local programming, CET is a leader in providing education and enrichment to the classrooms and living rooms in the Tri-State area. Your support enables CET to remain part of the Greater Cincinnati community.
The Action Auction has been a mainstay in Cincinnati because of the generous support of the community. Without our loyal donors, sponsors and viewers, the event would not be a success. Thousands of volunteers give their time, energy and support to the Action Auction throughout the year. During auction week alone more than 500 volunteers spend their time at the CET studio working to make the Action Auction happen!
