The history of our great nation is a fascinating story of a people’s struggle for freedom and unity. Commemorate the American Civil War, fought 150 years ago, in this educational and informative tour hosted by University of Cincinnati history professor Dr. Christopher Phillips. On this seven-night excursion, you will travel by deluxe motor coach to various historic sites, including the Kentucky birthplaces of the two opposing presidents, Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Davis. You will explore battlefields and Military National Parks in Tennessee, Mississippi and Georgia, and visit the original capital of the confederacy in Montgomery, Alabama. This certificate will entitle you and a friend to join this guided tour, which runs from June 1 – 8, 2013. Departure is from Cincinnati. Dr. Phillips will provide insight and information about the history of the various sites. Overnight hotel accommodations are provided, along with 15 meals.
