Poldark

Oh my goodness I cannot find POLDARK on the tv guide!  I heard Sept. 4 it was coming back on, then I heard September 9.  When, oh when?  I need to set my old fashioned VCR!!!!!!

Relax. Take a deep breath. Multiple exclamation marks are a warning sign of an elevated heart rate. All is well.

ThinkTV 14 has replayed POLDARK’s first season Friday nights in August and September leading up to the new stuff.

POLDARK REVEALED is a behind-the-scenes appetizer before the main course. It airs on CET 48 and ThinkTV 16 on 9/18 @ 9pm.

The new season 2 of POLDARK will premiere 9/25 @ 9pm, and will run through October and November.

You have no idea how disappointed we are that after enjoying a couple of weeks of the Olympics we couldn’t come back to our favorite shows.  Instead we have two weeks of fundraising programing—none of which is of any interest to us.  We are contributing members, and it’s hard to imagine that these weeks - several times a year, it seems - are that productive.  The shows are ones we’ve seen again and again and of course, are constantly interrupted with the fundraising stuff.  Do they really work that well?  There must be another way to raise the funds necessary to keep your station on the air.  So we just go to some commercial network shows (not often) or just turn the set off.  We’ll see you after Labor Day.
Barbara J., Richmond, IN

PBS set dates for the annual August membership drive.  Normally in August, the dates were pushed back until after the Olympics. That was likely a wise move since even a late August drive still saw both CET and ThinkTV exceed their goals. We do a number of efforts to raise funds, and that has reduced the number of pledge days compared to 10+ years ago. But had we the means to bypass an August drive entirely, we’d still be in the position of airing repeats. Very few new shows are offered in August since audience numbers are low. Viewership goes up after Labor Day, and we have many new series and specials to offer such as CONTENDERS- 16 FOR ’16, FORCES OF NATURE, INDIA- NATURE’S WONDERLAND, new seasons of POLDARK and INDIAN SUMMERS.
