Through academic support, career exploration and mentoring, the Black Achievers program help youth raise their academic standards, develop a positive sense of self, build character, explore diverse college and career options, and meet and interact with professionals of color who serve as role models to inspire them to greater heights.

Survivng The Teens - Joe Stima's Story
CET Kids & Families raises awareness for mental health issues and suicide with the story of Joe Stima, a young man who did not survive his depression. His mother Kathy Winter explains how parents can find the words to talk to their children about this issue and obtain resources through the Surviving the Teens Program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Ms. Winter talks with Catherine Strunk, a psychiatric nurse with Children's Hospital and the director of the Surviving the Teens Program. They also describe the warning signs all parents should be aware of and stress the idea that depression and suicide can happen to anyone's child.

Adult education is an important component because parents have an influential role in creating a positive and supportive home environment.

Sue Milinkovich, the program Director of Every Child Succeeds for Children Inc. Every Child Succeeds is a regional home visitation program that began in 1999 in the greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. The goal of the program is to make sure every parent is being the best parent they can be as well as make sure children are developing properly. The program accomplishes this goal by helping mothers during their pregnancies as well as educating the entire family on childcare issues. Every Child Succeeds also helps the families by finding jobs and educational opportunities for the parents.
