Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood
Welcome to the Neighborhood!
Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood is a new animated series for preschoolers airing coming to PBS KIDS this fall. Based on the legacy of Fred Rogers, the show features the children of his original, beloved Neighborhood of Make-Believe characters. The 4-year-old Daniel Tiger talks directly to his young audience, inviting them into his colorful world. Daniel is joined by his friends O the Owl, Katerina Kittycat, Prince Wednesday and Miss Elaina. Together, through imagination, creativity and music they learn the key social skills necessary for school and for life.
The series tells engaging stories about the life of a curious preschooler and is accompanied by cross-platform games and activities for 2- to 4 year-olds, together with online resources for parents and teachers. Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood is produced by The Fred Rogers Company, and brings together a group of today’s leading creators of children’s media and educational technology. The series tells its relatable stories using musical strategies grounded in Fred Rogers’ landmark curriculum, and its catchy songs give parents and children a concrete way to practice important social and emotional skills together.
This new series will premiere on CET with a one-hour special at 11am Monday, Sept. 3. In this episode, Daniel celebrates his birthday, goes on a picnic and takes a special trip!

Meet the Cast!
Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood is filled with lots of great people, animals and characters. Meet Daniel and some of his best friends…
Daniel Tiger – The star of the series, this shy young tiger is the son of Fred Rogers much-loved puppet character of the same name, who has grown up and married Mom Tiger and now lives on Jungle Beach. Daniel Tiger, in his little red sweater and his neighborhood trolley, is the best friend a preschooler could have! Each day he invites viewers at home to a different place in the neighborhood, where he plays and learns with his friends.
O the Owl – O’s home is with his Uncle X and both owls like everything to be “just so,” loving structure and rules. Still, O’s natural curiosity ensures that he’s always on the lookout for something new and “nifty galifty” to learn. He loves to read and has a book for every occasion.
Katerina Kittycat – Katerina lives in the Tree alongside O the Owl with her mom Henrietta Pussycat. Katerina loves playing dress-up and pretend, but ballet is her favorite thing to do. She twirls to mark every and all occasions! A caring friend to all the neighborhood children, Katerina wants everyone to have fun.
Prince Wednesday – The royal family, headed by King Friday, lives in the castle. Daniel often visits to play with his friend Prince Wednesday, the youngest in his family. Prince Wednesday loves to make his friends laugh and can somersault into a room, show off a new magic trick or juggle – all with a mischievous smile!
Miss Elaina – Miss Elaina lives in the Museum-Go-Round with her eccentric parents Lady Elaine Fairchilde and Music Man Stan, who runs the neighborhood music shop. Their daughter enjoys doing things backwards and her way and inventing new games for everyone to play. Miss Elaina has a big heart and a great sense of humor!
