The production with soprano Adrienne Danrich celebrates two African-American opera legends with well-known opera excerpts, moving dialogue, and poignant multi-media images. Both Marian Anderson and Leontyne Price overcame many racial barriers from the Jim Crow era through the Civil Rights Movement to become international opera stars. Ms. Anderson became the first African-American singer to perform at The Metropolitan Opera House in New York and Ms. Price would take that torch and carry it to The Metropolitan Opera and the most prestigious opera houses around the world.
