CET Action Auction almost here

It’s that time of year –the days are longer, warmer weather is around the corner, and the CET Action Auction is almost here! This year’s Action Auction will be broadcast live on CET from 5pm to 11pm Wednesday, April 10, though Friday, April 12, and then from 3pm to midnight Saturday, April 13.

This is the 46th year for this live televised auction, which is the biggest annual fundraiser for CET, Greater Cincinnati’s PBS station.

“The proceeds from this event help us to sustain the services we bring to more than 2.3 million people each year on air, online and in our community,” said Events Manager Joycee Simendinger. “We appreciate all of our auction item donors, sponsors, supporters and bidders. We work on this auction year-round and we’re looking forward to this year’s event.”

As always, the Action Auction will feature trips, household items, furniture, artwork, sports items, experiences, gift certificates and more. This year’s big board is also full of special items, including a 7 night Civil War Excursion; a three-hour river boat cruise; and 160 total radio spots for Q102, B105, 97.3 The Wolf and Rewind 94.9. Many of the larger items can be viewed online now at http://www.cetconnect.org/events/action-auction/items and don’t forget that Saturday is wine night!

This year’s auction chair is Don Jones of Champion Window. Jones and his team have helped plan the auction, orchestrate the February art show, rally support for the on-air broadcast, and pull together a variety of auction items for the Chairman’s Board, which will include an on-field experience with The Cincinnati Reds, a Bengals’ sideline experience, a private dinner for 10 at Montgomery Inn and much more.

“Champion is excited to be involved in this year’s Action Auction. CET is an important part of the Queen City and this auction is crucial to the organization’s success,” Jones said. “Champion understands the importance of supporting and being involved with our community.”
