CET to Host First Ever Art Show & Sale

CET is excited to announce that the station will be hosting the first ever CET Action Auction Art Show & Sale later this month. The event, which is open to the public, will be held from 6pm to 8pm Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Champion Window showroom at 12121 Champion Way in Sharonville.

Artwork will be on display and available for viewing beginning Friday, Feb. 22, during regular showroom hours – 9am to 7pm Monday through Thursday, 9am to 5pm Friday,  9am to 4pm Saturday and 12pm to 4pm Sunday. The show is sponsored by Champion and Montgomery Inn and will include wine, cheese and appetizers.

“I think this is a wonderful idea and I’m proud to say the Champion Window showroom will be a perfect venue. We have a wonderful space to host an event like this and we’re excited to have Montgomery Inn on board”, said Don Jones, President and C.O.O of Champion and chair of the 2013 Action Auction.

CET, Greater Cincinnati’s PBS Station, typically sells donated art during the televised auction, which will be held April 10 through April 13, but staff and volunteers decided to try a separate art sale this year.

“We absolutely love getting donated art for the auction, but it can be difficult to sell during the Action Auction. You only have two minutes to see the art and it’s hard to tell if a particular piece will fit your home when you’re seeing it on TV,” said Joycee Simendinger, the CET Events Manager who oversees the auction. “We thought we’d try having a separate art sale this year so people could get a better look at the artwork we have available and see what might fit with their tastes and décor.”

The show and sale will include paintings, photographs, sculpture, pottery, fabric art, decorative pieces and chandeliers. Some additional non-art items also will be on display.

Just like the Action Auction, the Art Show & Sale will help ensure that CET can continue to provide quality programming and educational services to the Greater Cincinnati community.

The Action Auction will be broadcast live on CET from 5pm to 11pm Wednesday, April 10, through Friday, April 12, and from 3pm to 11pm Saturday, April 13. The items currently included in the auction as well as information on how to donate, sponsor and volunteer is available online www.CETconnect.org/events/action-auction.

If you need directions to the showroom, please call Champion’s main office at 513-346-4600.
