Wagner’s Ring Cycle

This four part opera kicks off with a documentary about the production followed by four days of performance starting at 9pm each night. Here’s what each day looks like:

Monday: Wagner’s Dream, a documentary about the making of the Ring Cycle, is an intimate look at the theatrical and musical challenges of staging opera’s most monumental work.

Tuesday: The gods of Valhalla clash with underworld dwarves and brawny giants, with disastrous consequences.
 

Wednesday: The mysterious hero Siegmund finds shelter in the familiar arms of a lonely woman named Sieglinde in a forbidden love.

Thursday: Siegfried puts together the broken pieces of the sword Nothung and slays the fearsome dragon Fafner.

Friday: Siegfried and Brunnhilde’s love is torn apart by the curse of the ring.
