IN EXTRAORDINARY TIMES THERE ARE NO ORDINARY LIVES.
There have been many wars that shaped the history of their time, but no singular
event so dramatically changed the entire course of our history as the Second
World War. The impact was both on a global and individual level, altering lives,
communities and nations unlike any event before or since.
Six years in the making, The War is a seven - episode series directed and
produced by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick that examines the myriad ways in which the
Second World War touched the lives of every family on every street in every town
in America.
