There’s little doubt in the community of Erlanger that Jelani Brandon was the finest athlete ever at Lloyd Memorial. A three-sport star, Jelani excelled in football, baseball and track during his record-setting career for the Juggernauts. He is the first athlete in Lloyd history to be named to the LaRosa’s High School Hall of Fame.
Quite simply, Wyoming High School football star Richard Hall is considered one of the school's, city's and state's greatest running backs of all time.
Elder's Ron Krechting earned eight varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball during his brilliant prep career with the Panthers.
Coach Tom Chambers for four decades was one of Greater Cincinnati's most revered baseball coaches, having sent an incredible 79 players on to college baseball programs throughout the United States and three players to the major leagues -- Cincinnati Reds' Ron Oester, Tony Scott (Montreal) and Shannon Penn (Detroit).
Two-sport athlete Adolphus Washington is one of the most decorated athletes in Cincinnati high school sports' history, and he was also a finalist for the LaRosa's MVP of the Year award last year as a junior. A football All-American, Adolphus' many honors included being named Ohio Div. III Defensive Player of the Year, Southwest Ohio Div. III Defensive Player of the Year and Cincinnati Div. III Player of the Year. He also played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
The Buddy LaRosa high school Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1975 to recognize outstanding athletes from area high schools. Each year, nominees are considered based solely upon high school accomplishments. Collegiate, professional, or other amateur achievements have no bearing on the selection process. The nominee must have graduated high school 10 years before eligibility may begin.
Maureen Egan Corl re-wrote the record books during her cross country and track high school career at St. Henry.
