Clermont County Parks: Wicket Divers
Repairing damaged wickets on the dam at Lock #34 in Chilo was a hard and dangerous job. Working in total darkness and barehanded, divers made repairs wearing a cumbersome diving suit and helmet. Keeping the locks open no matter what the weather was a source of pride for these men and was important to the health of river commerce. This video was contributed by Clermont County Park District who maintains a museum and park on the site of Lock #34 and Clermont County Government Television.
