FOCUS - The 12th Annual On the Same Page Program

“On the Same Page” is an annual community-wide reading program hosted by the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County in partnership with community organizations such as: the Friends of the Public Library and Joseph-Beth Booksellers. It runs from February 1 through March 31, 2013.

Joining us via Skype, author Will Schwalbe will discuss his book The End of Your Life Book Club which is this year’s On the Same Page book selection. This is the inspiring true story of a son and his mother who start a “book club” that brings them together as she is succumbing to the effects of advanced-stage pancreatic cancer. Over the next two years, Will and Mary Anne share their hopes and concerns with each other -- prompted by an eclectic array of books and a shared passion for reading. When they read, they are not a sick person and a well person, but a mother and a son taking a journey together.

On this episode of Focus, Kathy Lehr learns more about the 12th Annual “On the Same Page” program. She will also discuss other programs the public library has planned for 2013 and how it is embracing digital technology and digital distribution.
