FOCUS - Can We Stop Bullying in Schools?
Recently, the national news has been reporting about a number of students who have committed suicide because they were tired of being bullied at school. Kathy Lehr talks with three experts about how parents, teachers and administrators can help prevent bullying, harassment and intimidation in their schools and provide a safer learning environment for their students.
The experts discuss how constant bullying affects the young psyche; how sexism, racism, homophobia and other forms of discrimination play a big part in bullying; and how laws in Ohio distinguish between simple teasing and “joking around” and the more serious issues of chronic bullying, harassment and intimidation.
