Lilias - The 3 Rs

The 3 Rs: Resist, Relax, Restretch. The three R’s are a creative way to observe and listen to your body. It is a safe, simple stretching technique that helps muscle and connecting tissue to lengthen and release painlessly. When you resist, don’t push to hard—only 20-30% of what you could do. No pain, sweet discomfort maybe, but no pain! A word of caution, stretching while you are uncomfortable with problems like disc or sciatica, may not be helpful. Please take advice from your health practitioner. Otherwise, these stretches are fabulous for opening stiff hips and tight hamstrings. Go slowly and listen to your body.
