Voices of Giving: Harry Kangis and Julia Hawgood
Harry Kangis and Julia Hawgood are tremendously grateful to ERH for the caring home and support that Julia's mother has received at the Marjorie P. Lee Retirement Community. The positive experience that Harry and Julia have had, as family members, has led them to share generously of their time, talents and treasure with ERH.
Since 2005, Harry has served on the ERH Board. He lends a lifetime of strategic planning expertise to guiding the present and future of ERH for the betterment of the lives of its residents.
For 60 years, Episcopal Retirement Homes has been dedicated to improving the lives of older adults through quality senior living communities and through innovative services for older adults. Core to ERH's mission is the commitment of $1.2 million per year in resident support to ensure that no resident will ever be asked to leave for financial reasons.
''All seniors in our community deserve to live in a safe, clean and nurturing environment, where they can live with dignity during this phase of their lives. It is an easy decision to support an organization that spends its money with such care and thoughtfulness.''
Harry Kangis and Julia Hawgood have included ERH among the bequest beneficiaries of their estate plans to help ensure that the positive experience Julia's mother has had will be available to all seniors -- now and for generations to come. And for this, ERH is forever thankful.
