Just in time for the Ohio
Bicentennial - Write Now, Ohio brings Ohio authors to students in
hundreds of classrooms throughout the state. Designed for students in grades four
through six, Write Now, Ohio provides an interesting and creative
way for students to improve their literacy skills.
The
first program in Write Now, Ohio featured historian/author Rick
Sowash and his book Heroes
of Ohio. Following this live call-in television broadcast, CET aired
Ohio
Oddities, featuring journalist/author Neil Zurcher. Both of these programs
aired on Tuesday, December 3, 2002, and can be seen online or by request of our
ITV member schools through CET's
Dial Access.
On the Write Now, Ohio
site, teachers can find lesson plans to accompany both programs, and offer their
students the opportunity to improve writing skills through the Ohio
Writing Contest, or test their reading skills with the Ohio Oddities trivia quiz.
