Neil
Zurcher will be the first to tell you that he has the best job in the world! Zurcher
is an Emmy-award-winning TV reporter who has written several books about Ohio,
including Ohio Oddities.
From Neil's perspective, Ohio is anything but boring. For starters, grocery shopping is always a feast for eyes, ears and stomach at Jungle Jim's in Fairfield. Want some ice cream? Head to the ice cream museum in Medina for a humongous sundae, served in a kitchen sink. Lawn mower races? Check out Columbus. In Ohio, if it's the biggest or the smallest, unusual, or the first or only of its kind, you'll find it in Ohio Oddities.
Neil has been called "One of the most respected and knowledgeable travel writers in the state." His "One Tank Trip" report on Fox8 TV in Cleveland is the longest-running local travel segment on television, He also writes regularly for AAA Ohio Motorist magazine and is the author of three other books: Neil Zurcher's Favorite One Tank Trips, More of Neil Zurcher's One Tank Trips, and One Tank Trips Road Food.
In addition to his Emmy, Zurcher received the Distinguished Service award from the Society of Professional Journalism and the "Silver Circle" award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
