Letter From Our President & CEO
February 2026 – Letter to our Members

Dear Member:
Welcome to February! I hope your public television stations have brought warmth, entertainment and curiosity into your home this winter. As we continue to battle the loss of federal and state funding, our commitment to providing quality programming and educational services to your family will not waiver.
This is certainly a time of change for Public Media. Across the country, PBS stations, including CET and ThinkTV, are reviewing their business strategies, including evaluating new revenue opportunities and reducing expenses. Unfortunately, here at home, the loss of both federal and state funding to CET and ThinkTV totals $3.1 million and cannot be easily replaced.
One of the first steps we’re taking to reduce expenses is to discontinue the production and mailing of our Member Magazine. June 2026 will be the last issue of PMC Connect. While we understand that members value receiving the magazine and the latest updates on our organization and programming, the dollars we will save are a priority at this time. We are working on less expensive alternatives to provide you with much of the same information online and through our e-newsletter. And, our programming schedule is always available on our websites at thinktv.org/schedule and CETconnect.org/schedule. More information on next steps is available on page 10.
Last month, we revamped some of our digital channels to better serve our viewers. Those newly-reworked channels include 16.2, 16.3, 16.4, 14.2 and 14.4. Our main channels – ThinkTV16, ThinkTV14 and CET – as well as our PBS KIDS 24/7 channels did not change.
Rest assured, we know your favorite programs, and they will continue in similar time slots. Here is a summary of the changes:
- ThinkTV 16.2: This channel is now ThinkTV16 Journey and features international news, lifestyle programs, and encores of some of your favorite PBS programs.
- ThinkTV 16.3: We now broadcast The World Channel 24/7 on 16.3. This channel is packed with international news and content from across the globe.
- ThinkTV 16.4: We now broadcast The Ohio Channel 24/7 on 16.4. That means more news from the Statehouse and additional programming from Ohio PBS stations like ours.
- ThinkTV 14.2: This channel is now ThinkTV14 Explore and takes viewers around the world with international programming as well as encores of PBS programs.
- ThinkTV 14.4: Like with ThinkTV 16.4, this channel is now The Ohio Channel 24/7.
We have seen your increased support and heard your advocacy. Your efforts, aligned with our strategic management of your public television stations, will keep us strong and help us navigate this unprecedented time of change.
Thank you for your support – it truly makes a difference, allowing us to provide our community with local services and the national programming we all love.
