Trouble with your Television?

We are always happy to help our viewers with issues with their televisions. Most of the calls we receive are either about audio missing from certain channels or about trouble with receiving the channels themselves.

Here are the instructions to fix those issues:

If you are completely missing sound on one or more of our channels, your SAP setting may be set incorrectly. Second audio program (SAP), also known as secondary audio programming, provides audio tracks in languages other than the default language a program was intended to be broadcast in or descriptive narration. Some programs we provide do not contain secondary audio programming and instead will be silent.

If you believe this may be your issue, there are several things to try. Every television is different and even streaming configurations change, so you may need to look up your specific television model or steaming device as they also have updates that change where these settings are, but here’s where to start:

To edit the Audio Language (SAP) preferences for Over-the-Air Antenna , you can try the following:

  1. Press the Menu on your remote
  2. Navigate to Settings
  3. Select Audio/Language
  4. Select your preferred language
*Some remotes have dedicated SAP Buttons that bypass these steps.

If this doesn’t work, you may need to look up your specific Tv or Antenna Box manual.

To edit the Audio Language (SAP) preferences for Spectrum TV on a Cable box, you can try the following:

  1. Press Menu on your remote
  2. Select Settings & Support
  3. Select Preferences
  4. Select Audio, Video & Display
  5. Select Audio
  6. Select Language Preference
  7. Select your desired language
  8. Select Save

If this doesn’t work, contact Spectrum as setting are subject to change

To edit the Audio Language (SAP) preferences for Spectrum TV on Roku, you can try the following:

  2. Press the Close/Back arrow to open the main menu
  3. Select Settings
  4. Select Preferences

*SAP is only available on some Roku models.

To edit the Audio Language (SAP) preferences for Most Other Streaming Devices, you can try the following:

  1. Find the Settings or Options menu
  2. Navigate to the Audio or Language settings
  3. Find & select the SAP or Secondary Audio option
  4. Set accordingly

If you watch our stations over the air, you might need to rescan from time to time. Rescanning is when your TV finds all the available channels in your area.

Rescanning only takes a few minutes.

  1. On your remote, press menu
  2. Select Channel Setup or Broadcast Setup on the menu (if you can’t find these options, check your owner’s manual or search for your television’s specific instructions online)
  3. Choose Auto Programming or Auto Scan, then select Air, then Start
  4. Your TV will automatically rescan available signals so all your channels tune in again.
  5. Once you start, don’t press any buttons until the screen indicates that the scan is complete. This could take a few minutes.
