DIY Gratitude Tree
Everyone is familiar with Christmas Trees but what about Thanksgiving Trees, also known as Gratitude Trees? Gratitude Trees are really easy to make and can be a fun activity for the whole family to participate in!
Here’s What You’ll Need:

- A medium-sized Mason Jar
- Three sticks that are about 8 inches in length (you can get these from a craft store or just from outside in your backyard)
- A roll of twine (or string of some type)
- A pair of scissors
- One to two bags of small rocks to put in the jar (can be from a craft store or just small rocks you find outside)
- Leaf-shaped papers or leaf place cards (can make by using construction paper as well)
- A hole-puncher
- A Sharpie
The How-To:
Step 1: Open the Mason jar and fill it all the way up three-fourths of the way up with the small-sized rocks.

Step 2: Place the sticks inside the Mason jar. Then adjust them until they stand on their own.

Step 3: Layout the leaf-shaped papers or leaf place cards. Then hole punch each leaf at the top of the leaf!

Step 4: Write down some things that you are thankful for!

Step 5: Cut a 3-4 inch piece of twine. Then take the twine and stick one end through the hole and make a loop.
After the first loop has been made take the twine and make a loop above it and pull the second loop it so it tightens around the first.
Once you are done with that, cut off the extra string around the loop!
Then repeat with all your leaves until you have a variety of leaf ornaments!

Step 6: Hang your ornaments on the tree!

Step 7: Finally, put your Gratitude Tree on display for all to see and add to it as more grateful thoughts come along!
