Nature Follows Three Big Cats in a New Two-Part Series

Journey to Africa in Nature’s new two-part special, Big Cats, Small World, and explore the lives of three big cat families living amongst each other in the fight for survival. The show premieres on Wednesday, January 22, at 8pm on CET and on the PBS App.
Narrated by David Oyelowo, Big Cats, Small World follows lions, cheetahs and leopards who have all made a home for themselves and their young on the shores of the Gomoti River in Botswana. An aging lion has his hands full with new cubs; a cheetah mother races to get her five cubs to independence, and a male leopard embarks on a bumpy journey to fatherhood.
Each of these big cats must use their unique survival skills to co-exist while avoiding the others. But the other cats aren’t their only threats; they compete for resources and face lethal encounters with rivals like baboons, warthogs, wildebeests and other creatures that are fighting to survive in this crowded space.
In this world, trouble comes when the cats least expect it. Their skills are further tested by the changing seasons and weather patterns, including a winter flood that brings both opportunity and hardship. The series documents extraordinarily rare and breathtaking moments as they make increasingly difficult decisions to secure their domain and thrive in their shared home.
