New mystery series “The Puzzle Lady” premieres this month

Meet Bakerbury’s newest and most famous resident – Cora Felton, star of The Puzzle Lady. Mystery, wit and puzzle collide in this new crime series, premiering Thursday, March 19, at 8pm on CET. Watch a preview: https://watch.cetconnect.org/video/season-1-preview-tumcyh/.

When a murder takes place in the sleepy market town of Bakerbury, the local police are baffled by a crossword puzzle left on the body. With their case going nowhere, they turn reluctantly to Cora, whose fame as the eponymous “Puzzle Lady” suggests she can help unravel the clues and solve the town’s first murder case. Her eccentric, no-nonsense approach proves a perfect way to outwit the murderers, con men and corrupt officials that stand in her way.

However, this amateur sleuth isn’t who she claims to be… Cora is actually a fraudulent front-woman for her long-suffering niece Sherry, a puzzle genius who came to town to escape her abusive ex-husband. Despite hiding a secret which would ruin her and those around her, Cora proves to have a remarkable talent for solving murders – and Bakerbury isn’t as sleepy as it looks.

The Puzzle Lady, which streamed in the UK under the title Murder Most Puzzling, stars Phyllis Logan as Cora Felton, alongside Charlotte Hope, Nick Danan, Adam Best and others. The series airs Thursdays, March 19 through April 23, at 8pm on CET and Saturdays, March 21 through April 25, at 8pm on ThinkTV16. You can also watch on the PBS app. Stream the first episode now with CET Passport: https://watch.cetconnect.org/video/episode-1-q4izns/.
