Welcome Stephanie’s Recipe Journal to CET and ThinkTV

Welcome Stephanie’s Recipe Journal to CET and ThinkTV

After five years of producing The Baking Journal for YouTube, we are excited to announce that we are spinning the show into a new longer-format program called Stephanie’s Recipe Journal. Stephanie’s Recipe Journal includes recipes of all kinds – not just baked goods – and is set to premiere Saturday, September 20, at 12:30pm on ThinkTV16 and at 1:30pm on CET.

Stephanie’s Recipe Journal will be formatted as a full cooking show with 30-minute long episodes. Rather than focusing specifically on the steps to make each recipe like we did for The Baking Journal, this new format will allow us to spend time with Stephanie, listen to her stories, learn the science behind her ingredients, glean some of her kitchen know-how, enjoy her meditative process and so much more.

“I am so excited about the launch of our new broadcast series, Stephanie’s Recipe Journal,” said host Stephanie. “In my opinion, cooking is about slowing down, savoring and sharing, and now I have the opportunity to invite you into my kitchen for a full half hour.”

The first episode features one of Stephanie’s personal favorite recipes, Challah bread, which she braids two ways. You’re going to wish you could smell through your screen! Then, in the next episode, premiering in October, Stephanie will show us how to make her impressive checkerboard cake, complete with an adorable fondant rose decoration. Although we’re starting with two baked items, we have future episodes planned that feature soups, appetizers and other delights.

“I want this show to feel like we are hanging out in the kitchen together,” Stephanie said. “The kind of space where timers are going off, we’re sneaking tastes and somehow the best conversations happen between the clatter of the mixer and the whir of the food processor. So here’s to spending more time together and making something fabulous.”

Stephanie’s Recipe’s Journal also airs on Saturdays as part of the cooking block across our three main channels, scheduled from 11am-1pm on ThinkTV14, 12:30pm-2:30pm on ThinkTV16 and 1:30pm-3:30pm on CET. During these two-hour blocks, you can discover new recipes and techniques from shows like America’s Test Kitchen, Lidia’s Kitchen and more.

You can stream episodes of both Stephanie’s Recipe Journal and The Baking Journal on YouTube @stephaniesrecipejournal and on the PBS App. We will continue to post recipe cards and additional information about the recipes on our website at CETconnect.org/recipejournal and thinktv.org/recipejournal.
